Ellmauer Halt

Great tour and a true classic: “Kopftoerlgrat” or Ellmauer Halt west ridge. This tour requires the alpinist more than the climber. We did the first half without rope, than continued simuling with ~12-15m of rope, using rock outcrops or 1-2 stoppers for protection. In total we ended up with 3-4 fixed belays in the vertical sections.

Recommended gear: 40m rope (we used a single 8mm cord) and 1-2 medium size cams plus 3 medium/large stoppers, 5 quickdraws
