Start of winter ’15: After numerous days piste skiing – including one morning hike to the Zuckerhütl, skiing its north face in bad wind effected snow – it was time to hit some pow pow again. Thanks to “Freeride Center Stubai” for setting up some bomber anchors and making this resort a bit more interesting in a low tide December.
After the mandatory rappel (60m ropes required) one hits a less interesting slope (steady traverse). After days of Foehn-wind we found some variable conditions here again.
Today this only serves as a feeder for some untracked north-east facing slopes in the upper “Wagenkar”
And yes, we found what we were looking for.
After a second lunch time it was time to go for the lifts again..
