Fußstein

Fußstein 3380m, Nordkante

The Fußstein is best known for exactly one route, its famous North Ridge: D+, 40°, V-, E3
450m, 12 pitches.

One of the classic Zillertal granite climbs and route number 46 in Im Extremen Fels. Hermann Buhl made the first winter ascent in 1943 (!)

Glacier/Bergschrund was in bad condition.
Bolts on most belays and occasional old peg runners, otherwise natural protection.
We used 3-5 medium size Stoppers and equal number of Camalots, where 0.75 & 1 are very usefull.
