Ecandies Traverse

Pointe des Écandies:  S >> N traverse

Rating: D, 5c, E3

Yes, I hoped this would become great, and indeed it became one of the best single day adventures ever. The girls kept the speed high and their confidence and joy made this really memorable. Just wow.
We did the approach from Champex/Arpette in 2.5h (1200m↑). The climbing then took about 5-6h with some hard but bolted sections.
I added a short video I found on the Internet to the end of this post. It’s made really affectionately and captures the character and mood quite well.

A further description can be found on Camp to Camp.

Aline leads the final 5c crack. Super strong.
